About Me
Dear Keri and Mark, I just stumbled across this site today. It is wonderful. However, I have not found directions to the cemetery. My wife and I plan to travel to Georgia in March and would very much like to visit the Woodard Cemetery. We will also be visiting the Reuben Warren Cemetery that is located in the woods about a quarter mile west of Antioch Church Road on Land Lot Ninety, eighteenth Land District. I have submitted a photo taken in 1949 of my Dad and me before Reuben’s headstone. As you have so well described, the underbrush grows quickly in Georgia and old cemeteries are soon lost and forgotten. Thank you for rediscovering Young Woodard’s. Young Woodard was my 4th great grandfather. Young Woodard's daughter, Mary (Polly) Ann Woodard (born about 1796) married Reuben Warren (born about 1790) on Oct 5, 1814. One of their children was Reuben Warren (born Feb. 7 1822). He married Mary Caroline Duncan (born Nov 8 1822) on Feb 19, 1845. One of Reuben and Mary Caroline's children was Joseph A Warren (born Dec 26, 1868). He married Elifair Elizabeth Alligood (born Feb 12, 1872) on Jun 10, 1888. One of Reuben and Elefair’s children was Alvin A Warren Sr. (born Dec 14, 1894). He married Laurena Elizabeth Mizell (born Dec 4, 1898) on Dec 13, 1917. One of Alvin and Laurena's children was Alvin A Warren Jr. (born Mar 20, 1920). He married Leona L Weinkauf (born Mar 25, 1922) on Aug 24, 1946. One of their children was me, Alvin A Warren III (born Apr 25, 1948). My Dad had worked on the Warren, Mizell and Alligood family trees for much of his adult life. He died in 2000. Last year I was contacted by a 4th cousin living in Florida who is also a descendant of Young Woodard. She prompted me to go through my Dad's family records and begin a family tree on Ancestry.com. I have been putting my Dad's records on that tree for over a year now and would be willing to share any records and old family photos I have with anyone interested. Anyone who is a member of Ancestry.com can view and copy records and photos from my Warren III Family Tree. Anyone interested who is not a member of Ansestry.com may contact me and I will add you as a guest so you can view the tree without having to become a member. Al Warren
